Woohooo...first ride on Florence...Fantastico!!! Woke up this morning not feeling very good....but decided to get on the bike and at least see how she rode after putting her together....ha....back after 29 miles (46.6 km)!! Felt great...awesome to be back on the bike. Rode from the center down to the park west of the center.....followed the gravel road along the Arno as far as I could (to where it goes under the railroad tracks....couldn't figure out where to go from there so I turned around). Came back through the park and took the only singletrack trail I could find....pretty clean be very flat and not technical. Came back to the apartment to get some more water and then rode up to Piazzale MichelAngelo and then over to Forte de Belvedere and then back to the center and then back up to Piazzele MichelAngelo again. I would say it was a good first ride (a couple of the climbs did hurt a lot!!)....but it only consisted of flat fire road (the gravel road) and concrete. The most exciting part was cruising back down from Piazzale MichelAngelo and taking the two 'shortcuts' through the woods and taking the two 1' (0.3m) drops...I did beat the car I was racing!!! Still waiting for the coveted singletrack trails that I KNOW are around here.....hopefully next weekend after my co-workers leave on Thursday evening!!!
