I have just learned my allowance for rent and utilities while living in (around) Florence. This amount is ONLY for a furnished apartment and utilities.....is 2330 Euros a month suitable for getting a better than average apartment in a nice clean quiet part of town and also cover utilities? This amount is not for transportation, food, etc. as all that stuff is covered separately.

I'm working as supplier for that company.
Just to give you some reference nrs, we're also managing some apartments for foreigner engineers on rotation in Florence so I can tell u that 1200 euros is enough for a decent apartment (sufficient for 4 people near the facility) and u will not spend more that 100-150 euros per month for all the utilities.
I think u also will have a good time riding on Morello Mountain that is close to GENP

it looks like I will be coming to Florence the first week in April...maybe second...currently I am considering Badia A Ripoli for an apartment...it seems very nice and close to Centre, but not right in it and should only be about 30-40 minute drive to GE....maybe we can get together and ride when I get there....I hope to bring my bike over in a travel case.

Even in my opinion Bagno a Ripoli is too far. U will take 30-40 minutes to cross Firenze every morning.......
I will utilize a 'locator' and hopefully see many places before deciding where to finally get a residence. Some of my co-workers have utilized a company called florence and abroad. Any thoughts?
