Fox Racing Shox DECLARE "In our effort to provide you with the best in customer service and support, it is important to understand how the FOX serial number marking system works. A FOX fork sold to a bike manufacturer as part of an Original Equipment to be assembled on complete bicycle, has always a serial number finishing with “OE”. A FOX fork with a serial number finishing with “AM”, instead, is intended to be sold through aftermarket distribution. The FOX fork serial number is engraved on the steer tube and it is located on the underside of the fork head (plate?). Warranty is void on forks engraved with “OE” serial numbers if they are sold as an aftermarket item. Retailers: Please be aware of this and please refer to
www.foxracingshox.com for contact informations of the official FOX Distributor in your country or region. If you are not buying your FOX products through one of the authorized FOX Distributors, you are potentially buying a product not intended for aftermarket sale. This may ultimately result in difficulties for you if your customers will ask for warranty coverage on those products. Consumers: Whether you buy your FOX products at your favourite local retailer, or through a mail order company, or through the internet, please ask in advance for serial number information before purchasing. FOX products are the most durable you may find in the market. However, on the off chance that you had an issue with your FOX product, we inform you that a copy of the original purchase receipt is required for warranty coverage and it must accompany any fork or rear shock being delivered us for service. “Thank you for considering FOX products."
